Most of the people I know who get into academia seriously all tend to say the same thing, i.e. I don’t really read for fun anymore… It’s sad but kind of true. Given the number of journals and handbooks that have to be read and in day out, the drive to read in one’s free-time can wane somewhat. Still, I’ve been a hardcore reader all my life and I don’t think I’ll be heading to rehab anytime soon. While I’ve slowed down considerably over the years, I strive to clock a book a week whenever I can. Still trying to see if I can hit 1000 by the time I’m 40. (;.
